Amalfi is the brightest of all coastal gems and Borgo Santandrea is located at the threshold of the city, a peaceful retreat from which to discover and enjoy why the region is so renowned.

The famous Emerald Grotto is located in Conca dei Marini and is a true gift of nature with its exquisite and mysteriously glowing and glittering green and turquoise waters.

The colourful Romanesque façade of the Cathedral dominates the main square. Perched at the top of a magnificent flight of stairs, it has become quite the icon of the Amalfi coast, along with the stunning Cloister of Paradise which displaying the influence of the Arabs on Amalfi and its stones through its pointed arches and white columns.

MYTH, NATURE AND HISTORY

Amalfi has always had a hold on those who come to know it. Legend has it that Hercules loved a nymph named Amalfi.

Beauty and craft have always had a place in Amalfi. The oldest paper mills in Europe are in Amalfi, where the precious Charta Banbagina was and still is produced.

Amalfi is located 61 km south of Naples.

BY PLANE
The nearest airport is Capodichino International Airport in Naples.
The drive to Amalfi takes around 90 minutes.
Rome airport is 290 km away and the drive to Amalfi takes around 3 hours.
On request, we can arrange a transfer with a private car.

BY TRAIN
Naples Central Station offers high-speed connections to Rome, Florence, Milan and Venice. On request, we will send a private car to meet you. The drive to Amalfi takes around 90 minutes. For current train schedules visit www.trenitalia.com.

BY CAR
Take the A3 Napoli-Pompei-Salerno highway and exit at Castellammare di Stabia, then follow signs to Gragnano/Agerola/Amalfi.

BY PRIVATE BOAT
On request we can organize a private boat transfer from Capri, Naples directly to our private jetty.

BY HYDROFOIL FERRY
Public transport available only during the summer months, generally from April to October, when fast passenger services connect Amalfi via sea with Capri (www.lucibello.it), Sorrento (www.alilauro.it) and other destinations on the Amalfi Coast (www.travelmar.it).
